Am I or a loved one entitled to Attendance Allowance?

with No Comments

Attendance Allowance is extra money you can claim if you’re over State Pension age and need help with your care needs or regular supervision. It’s not means-tested, so you can claim it whatever your income or savings.

Attendance Allowance is provided if you are over state pension age, have a physical or mental health condition or disability.

Your care needs could include things like:

  • personal care
  • dressing and undressing
  • getting in and out of bed
  • taking medication or having treatment
  • you have a life limiting condition

There are two rates of pay dependent on whether you need day or night care or if you need care both during the day and at night. The lower rate is £68.10 per week and the higher rate is £101.75 per week.
